Today Jack had "Meet your Teacher" day at school. Meaning no tears for this mama since we got to stay the whole time. No waving goodbye yet....that comes later this week. Look for another post to follow. His first official day is this Thursday, but he's been looking forward to today for a long time. Most of it began when he got a letter from his teacher this summer. He decided right away that he wanted to write her back. He wanted her to know that he got a snorkel mask this summer, he likes having fun, and his cousin would also be in her class- you know the basics. You'll see him proudly displaying his letter below along with a picture for her.

Backing up a bit, while still in the car this morning, Kaitlyn and I prayed for Jack to have a great day. Jack joined in the prayer as he likes to do and also asked God to help him make great choices. I was really proud of him, and it was another reminder that he's growing up.

Here we are on our way to the classroom.

Delivering his card and meeting his new teacher.

Jack immediately found the cars

and Abigail.

Hugs from daddy.

His first official project was to make a hand print.

He was very excited to show his teacher his red hand.

The end result.

Some special block time with his teacher.

Another special friend. Jack was thrilled Kaydee was in his class too.

Baby washing station. Jack displayed his sensitive side.

Some of the spectators. :)

Finding carpet spots.

Criss-cross applesauce was a new one for Jack. He said it was his favorite part of the day.

The attempt

and success!

After school, Jack wanted to share his new knowledge with his sis. Here is his criss-cross demonstration for her.

Two preschool buddies plus a little stowaway.

When we were walking back to the car after class Jack looked up at me and said, "That was really fun." I agreed. It was a good morning, and I think it's going to be a great year!

Yay! Thanks for the pictures and commentary - now I feel like I was there. It doesn't surprise me at all that he is smiling in every picture. What a precious blessing he is! We're so proud of you, Jack! You're going to have a terrific year of fun and we are excited to see you learn and experience new things. I'll say a little prayer for you all tomorrow morning! We love you!
